Plank

How do you keep yourself above the bottom of the box when you do the plank (and getting a score of 0)?  Is there somehow that you need to shift your weight?  Am I missing something?

Balance Games

Have any of you done the Lotus game yet?  My husband got it today and I guess we don't understand what you are trying to do.  He gets that white symbol that flashes on the screen at around 25 seconds then after about a second his flame goes out and it tells him he is done.  It doesn't seem like he is moving around at all.  Are we missing something?  Was there an intro screen that he just flipped through that would have told us what the deal was?

Otherwise, I gotta say I love this game.  I like the advanced step and the advanced table tilt games best so far.  I'm terrible at snowboarding.  Really bad.  I still kind of like it though.

I'm looking forward to hearing how other people are doing with the game.

Week 5 Feb 27th to Mar 4th.

A funny thing happened to me on the weigh over here.
Ooh, beginning with a terrible pun. Not entirely good. When I went for my week away to the state of Victoria recently I weighed myself on my girlfriends electronic scales (where I last weighed myself before starting my Wii Fitness kick) and was an astonishing 84 kilo's. I weighed myself the day I left and was 89, as you can see in my log. Extremely strange. But with a simple explaination.
Her scales are actually good. It's electronic, was fairly expensive (as far as I know) and seems to give a pretty accurate reading (for instance, I weighed a food item that said "2kg" to be sure and hey, it was 2kg).
My scales I bought for $5 and are the "old style" and seem to be very...touchy.
Since I have access to my scales everyday I'll be using it as a control, bearing in mind I actually weight 4kg's lighter. Hmm.
Though I do feel happy that since January the 8th I've lost 7 kilo's.

New

I'm so excited I found this community! I'm Jenn, 22, and my boyfriend and I just got a Wii last month. We mostly got it because he's in love with everything wireless and we love the entire concept, but we're excited about the incentive to exercise, too.

I don't have a specific exercise regimen, but I've been trying to do something on Wii Sports every day. Usually I'll play a couple games of bowling, one or two of baseball, a couple random training activities and then take my fitness test. I try to play for at least a half hour, although I'm not terribly strict with myself in that respect. I play more on the weekends, as well. My Wii Fitness Age lately has been ranging from mid-twenties to early thirties... when I first took it, I was 69! Eek!

Our Wiisercise (lame? yeah probably) is being coupled with what we're calling F*** Fast Food February, in which we're boycotting fast food, since we tend to eat it far too regularly. We're not necessarily eating super healthy, although we're trying to be healthier, but we're trying to be less reliant on swinging through a drive-thru on the way home.

My boyfriend recently found out he has high blood pressure, so that's a big motivator in everything.

I weighed 134lbs at the beginning of February, and now I weigh 131lbs... not a huge feat, I know, but considering I've been on a gradual climb the last year and a half, I'm excited to be more or less balancing out.

Woke up today at an odd angle and my neck was killing me. It's been hurting most of the day so I skipped my Sports for the day. Extremely annoying and I may see a doctor about it tomorrow.

Thursday:
Neck is still hurting from yesterday. Have had to skip it again. It hurts when I turn my head, or move it up and down or side to side. I basically have to keep it still.

Friday:
Deadset, this is just plain annoying now. Pain has gotten worst today, and I haven't bothered seeing a doctor. We'll see how the weekend goes.

Saturday:
Neck still hurting. Made up for no Wii Sports by going for a decent walk.

Sunday:
Yup, again. But the pain has subsided slightly.

New to the community

Hello.

I just got a Wii on Friday and am definitely interested in using it to get fit. Tennis is probably my favorite, so that will be good for staying motivated. I really like the boxing, but I get frustrated at how hard it is to be precise. The training where you have to hit the mitts is nearly impossible for me. I guess I'll stick with the bag and the actual game.

I'm probably not going to change much about my diet, though I do find that the more active that I am, the less I want the food that is bad for me. I'm also probably going to be cutting back on the eating out, so I'm sure that will help.

I hope more people find this community. I'm looking forward to hearing how other people are doing. Hopefully WiiPlay will have more active games to add to the routine.

I'm finding it harder to squeeze in a session each night. Now I'm going to aim for an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon, but not knock myself out in trying to create time to do it. I just can't find the time with packing and getting the house ready to sell.
